10 reasons not to trust your OB

  1. Your OB is probably a man.
  2. Men don't have a Yoni.
  3. If he has no yoni he's never charted his cycle to know exactly when he ovulates.
  4. he has no ovaries.
  5. he has no uterus.
  6. If he has no uterus he's never been pregnant.
  7. If he's never been pregnant he's never been in labor.
  8. If he's never been in labor he's never felt contraction surges.
  9. If he's never felt contraction surges he's never had a natural birth.
  10. If he's never given birth naturally he's not an expert on natural birth.

Empowring UBA2C

First I would like to thank Mama Tao for giving me a place to tell my story.  It is my hope to inspire women to know that their bodies aren't broken and all you have to do is believe for miraculous things to happen.
My Name is Mimi RaRa and my story starts almost 4 years ago when I fell pregnant with my first child.  It is now hard to look back at that time with any joy knowing what I know now.  I chose OB care and hospital delivery.  I believe that I was forced into a C-Section.  They did everything all the real moms told me they would to scare me.  They told me at an ultrasound that my baby was suspected to be over 10lbs.  When I didn't go into labor at 41 weeks they said I needed to be induced to ensure the survival of my baby.  I didn't know it then but they were clearly trying to schedule my birth around their whims and PLAYING THE DEAD BABY CARD.  But I was just a sheeple and I allowed the induction.  Well after the cascade of interventions my baby went into distress and they took her by C-Section.  At the time I was overjoyed but now all I can look back and feel is frustration and anger.  Avalia Louise was born at 11lb 2oz with a 2x nuchal cord.  Those horror show physicians made me think they did me a great favor and saved the life of my daughter.  But really they are ones that endangered it in the first place.
I found I was pregnant with DD2 at my 6 week check-up.  I was happily railroaded into another section because they felt my pregnancies were too close together.  My little La Ja'na Tulip was 10lb 6oz.  At the time life was blissful, I had my 2 little girls and things just couldn't be better.
Now that I was Mom to 2 babies I looked to the internet for some entertainment and socializizing.  And that is where I learned about the horror of birthrape that was forced upon myself.
I started reading and talking with any and everyone I could.  I got angrier and angrier.  How dare these "doctors" doubt my boby and my baby.  We as women are made to do this.  Our babies have an innate innteligence they do not grow too large, nor do they come before they are ready.  Like the fruit on the vine.  I knew what I needed to do.  I needed to have a healing natural birth.  I had to show myself and the world that a baby could pass from my vagina.  I learned through the culture of the group I was entering that a baby passing through my vagina was the only way I was ever going to be a real empowered mother and woman.  I didn't really want another child but how else was I going to heal?
I became pregnant quite quickly after my decision.  I was so thrilled at the thought of having my natural healing birth.  But as all my new friends told me the doctors told me that the safer option was RCS.  No matter how many google printoffs I showed them, no matter how many articles on Ina May I gave them they wouldn't budge.  I could not fail again.  So I left OB care and decided to UC my baby at home.  My vagina was going to open and a baby was going to come out of it.  It is what my body was made to do.
The rest of my pregnancy was easy breezy.  Late one night I started to feel low slow rushes and I knew the time was near.  I swayed to the song of my cervix until the rushes were becoming hard to stand through.  So I grabbed my camera and got into the tub.  The moment was almost here!  I was going to get my stingray.  No more tiny vagina for me.

There's my tub full of my home flora and fauna and germs.  No more taking risks getting something awful from a supposedly sterile hospital.

The rushes were getting almost unbearable.  But finally my water broke!  The time for my vagina to come into empowerment was here.

I started to feel the urge to push.  So I pushed will all my might.  And well sometimes shit happens.  But it was natural so I just pushed on.

It was a grueling 6 hours of pushing, but I just knew that with every push my stingray was that much closer.  Then I could be a new real woman.

Stingray born into water.  I named her Love Empowerment.  All natural.  Oh there was a baby there too another girl I called her Savia Vagania because she saved my life and gave me the vagina I always wanted.  This time life was indeed beatiful.
Now I have one AH-MAZING Stingray for a vagina, one beautiful perfect little girl who gave her mother the best gift of all, a NUCBA2C, two other kids too.  I am so grateful to have been able to prove those doctors wrong and push a baby out of me.  Nothing can top that feeling.

Monday Redos-day- My Birth Rape Story

Yet again, dear readers, we delve into the deep dark past and pull out my personal tale of woe. Enjoy.

There are those of you out there who might be pregnant and on the brink of making the choice between a NATURAL birth and one of those nasty and dangerous hospital births. I understand that not everyone is able to give birth at home ( for whatever selfish and hateful reasons you may have for risking your perfect birth in a place that never sees NATURAL birth), so I wanted to scare you with my own epidural story.
The truth is friends, I was birth raped by an evil ana “skeezi”oligist! When I found the pain of my (totally induced) labor too painful, I finally broke down and asked for the nasty narcotic cocktail! When the man (who invited a man to my birth?) showed up, he gave me a piece of paper to sign that was threatening to me! It stated that if I did not sit still he would miss my spine and give me a “headache or even death”!
At this point my friends, I was too scared to tell him to stop and he shoved his toxic, narcotic needle in my spine…yes, he spine raped me…
So take this as a warning, friends, when you go to that big, ugly hospital of unnatural intervention…remember me and my tale!

Ask Mama Tao--Re-Birth

Dear Mama Tao,

I will admit, I was birth raped. Not knowing any better, I went to the
hospital thinking something was "wrong", and the baby was extracted from
my goddess womb three hours later (some crap about eclampsia).
Don't they realize my body knew what it was doing?

My question is: can I do some kind of ceremony or rebirth of
little Deadtree? How else is he to have a normal life?
Can I introduce him into the womb and reintroduce him earthside?
He is 20 lbs and 29 in.

Thank you for your wisdom!

Too embarrassed of my lost goddessness to leave my name

Sent from my iPhone

Dear Sent From My iphone,
Today seems to be your lucky day as I have just written a paper on the newest
practice of Re-birthing by a Doctor from Shulls Mill College. In his reports he
speaks at great length about things that would make many of us uuncomfortable.
There is a new method being designed where babies and children are squeezed through
a press while at the same time a watermelon that has been inserted in the Mother's
Yoni is removed. Special pictures are shown during this process while both parent
and child focus of restoring their relationship. Perhaps this method is a good one
for you as it seems your son has grown too large to actually be shoved back into
your girly bits.
Hope this helps,
~Mama Tao~

The Psychology of Birth

As many of you know, Kate Tietje has asked Mama Tao to share her story with the world on her blog! I am so excited i wanted to give you all a sneek peak at my entry! Hope you enjoy!! And please keep the "Tisk Tisks" to yourself! All comments that are rude will be deleted!

By Jade Jymson
After the Birth of my first son, I had issues. The books I was reading talked about this great love and attachment that I was supposed to be feeling—but I wasn’t. I think it all started with my birth. I had dreams of a perfect, natural, labor—with husband and midwife by my side. As it turns out, the best laid plans are usually the first to go out the window. A LEEP I had received to remove cervical cancer had left my cervix covered in scars that refused to budge without Pitocin. After the Pit came the epidural—because one cannot expect to go natural after nature has been thrown out the window.
The Epidural was scary and about halfway through I decided I didn’t want it anymore but was too scared to tell her to stop. My son was born many hours later, but something inside me had changed. I have to admit I don’t think it will ever get better.
While looking for reasons as to why I might not have the emotions I should for my son, I was lured in to some psychology studies and found some interesting statistics. According to the Center for Family Freedom, almost 20% of women who suffered from traumatic labors felt that the relationship between themselves and their children was stunted and a further 5% felt downright dislike for said child. This number might actually be higher considering the subject at hand is not something most mothers admit. Phil Whithers, the head of the group states: “{ I}t is impossible to point out at which moment a Mother and child begin to bond—perhaps when unnatural interventions are introduced, certain hormones are never released.”
I feel ya there Phil, honestly I do. But what if we have missed these precious moments that can never be returned to us? The answer lies perhaps in a re-birthing or sorts. Dr. Wyatt Jones of Shulls Mill College states: “If we can find a way to trick the mind-- make it think for a moment that it is reliving the seconds where the trauma was first introduced, perhaps we can have a second chance at renewal. Perhaps we can cause of release of the bonding hormone and give these mothers a chance at the relationship they never had with their kids. A psychological re-birth would involve mother and child reenacting the entry of the child into this world—we would literally give them a second shot.”
We can only hope that there is some method that restores our natural balance as mothers and sisters in this world of unnatural interventions. But know this, you are not alone. We are all struggling and we all need and deserve a chance at redemption

Guest Blog- My Dolphin Assisted Birth Rape Story

Here  at Mama Tao, you know I have a a strict no censorship policy. But sometimes friends, I must admit, a story comes along that I simply will not allow to be published in its entirity. The following story is one of those cases. Please ignore the words that have been scratched out for your saftey.

I Had always wanted a dolphin Birth. When my water broke with my latest child we went straight to the large water mammal section of the local zoo, where our midwife let us in the gate.
The water was warm and at first the dolphins were friendly but suddenly I noticed that one of them was coming at me with a huge penis! I didn't even know dolphins had penises!

I don't even want to talk about what happened next, but let's just say it's never a smart idea to get in the water with a horney beast while you have your legs splayed apart! They managed to pull me out of the water but it was too late. I don't recomend dolphin assisted birth!

A Birthing Goddess and Rape Victim Needs Our Help

Some of you may have read this link--

ttp://blogs.babble.com/being-pregnant/2011/03/15/mom-confession-i-think-i-love-my-son-a-little-bit-more/--

While we totally understand this woman, many people are attacking her and telling her she needs so The"rape"y!

So what if she said she loves her son more than her daughter? How can you love a child made from an awful Birth Rape?

So what if she said she would not be sad if her daughter died? We all wish that our Birth Rape Babies had never been born at all and brought this shame on us.

So what if she placed this blog in a  very public place with a picture of her child as the header? I write all my darkest secrets on this blog and I've said it once to my first born, I'll say it again

I HATE YOU WOLFE STORM!! YOU ARE THE REASON I WAS BIRTH RAPED!

We all need to get over there to that forum and protect that woman with all our heart!!

Ask Mama Tao

Our question today comes from a woman who is new to the Natural Childbirth Movement. We can forgive her for that. She asks:
Dear Mama Tao,
With my first child my OB decided it was best to give me an episiotomy. My daughter was just over 9lbs and I was grateful for this intervention until I started reading your blog. Now I fear I have been Birth Raped. For my next child I have decided to have a "real" birth and have my baby at home with the help of a “real” practitioner—a CPM! I have everything ready; q-tips, plastic bags and hand sanitizer but I still fear the fact that I might tear again. I have really big babies and I don’t want to have to transfer after to be sewn up. What do I do?
Thanks, Tatum Gilbert
Well Tatum, I hate to be the bearer of unwanted news but why is it exactly, that you want a home birth? Those of us who are birthing Goddesses are aware of the repercussions of our actions and have decided that the journey is more important than the destination. This is particularly true of childbirth.
If your body tears then it tears and you are meant to live with the outcome. I have a friend who posts here regularly, who tore so bad during the birth of her 12lb. 5oz. baby that her two holes became one! Do you think she ran off to some fancy pants Doctor to be sewn up? Hell no!
She stands firmly behind her beliefs and wears diapers! She also found that everything in NATURE has perks! She can now go #1 and #2 at the same time—which is great for us Mamas who need to save time!
Just remember this Tatum, Stitches are for Bitches and Trauma is for Mama!

Guest Post:I didn’t know I was Birth Raped

By Echo Dawndancer

I read Mama Tao’s account of her birth rape yesterday, and I just knew I needed to share my story as well. My story is painful, but I hope that by telling it here, maybe I can save some unsuspecting pregnant woman from being so brutally violated during her birth like I was. My son is now two and a half. Up until he was about a year old, I loved sharing my birth experience with anyone who would listen. I had what I thought was an amazing, empowering birth. Baby boy was born in a freestanding birth center with a midwife. I did it all med-free because I knew that was the best thing I could do for him. I labored in the tub, moved around however I wished, and pushed him out in about 15 minutes with no one bossing me around. My body was made for birth and I was a birthing goddess. Baby nursed right away and we took him home a few hours later. Sounds great, right?

I didn’t realize until much later that by natural birth experience had been tainted and stolen from me by my attending “medwife”. As my son got older and we started spending time out of the house in playgroups with other moms, I started hearing about the natural births other women were having. I started thinking more about my birth, and remembered that when I was about 9cm dilated and 90% effaced, my medwife mentioned that she was going to break my water to help me get to 10cm and ready to push. At the time I didn’t think about it. I know now that this was an unnecessary intervention. She didn’t even give me a chance to say no, and I wasn’t in any state to say no even if I wanted to. I was so completely violated by my medwife for no reason at all, and I was devastated that it took me over a year to even realize that it had happened!

Breaking my water wasn’t needed and it wasn’t asked for. Everything would have been just fine if my medwife had only allowed me to continue birthing naturally. My baby probably would have been born in the caul. I’ve done a lot of research since discovering my birth rape, and I’ve learned that babies born in the caul typically hit their milestones earlier, have higher IQ, and are more confident and likable that their peers. They're usually clairvoyant as well. My medwife not only violated my body during my birth, but she may have cause permanent damage to my son by not allowing him to be born the way he was supposed to be. Now, every time he throws a tantrum or writes a letter backwards, I find myself wondering, “Is this happening as a result of my birth rape?”

My birth rape has had a profound effect on me. After coming to terms with the fact that my birth experience was not as wonderful as I had once thought, I became depressed and no longer felt as attached to my little boy. I apologize to my son every single day for what happened. I just wish someone would do the same for me. My chiropractor diagnosed me with Post Traumatic Birth Stress Disorder and has put me on a homeopathic remedy that has helped me to cope with my negative emotions. But my bond with my son will never be the same. My advice to pregnant women? Don’t let anyone come near you when you’re in labor. No one. Not even the baby’s daddy. You never know when they might try to take away your autonomy just because they can. And if they do, you may be dealing with the after-effects for the rest of your life.
