Monday Redo-sday- Birthday and NATURAL Shampoo

Mama Tao has noticed that we have published almost 100 posts in just over a Month (Happy Birthday us! If we were a newborn we'd still be sleeping and poohing). To mix things upa  bit and to make sure that every post we print is not only full of information, but also is given it's time to shine. For those of you of you who are new, I give you Monday Redo-sday! Below is one of my favorite guest posts and one of our very first. Enjoy!!

Our guest blogger today is Miss Rhododendron Mistyton , a homebirth midwife and Childbirth educator...take it away Rhododendron!!

Many of my friends have wondered why it is that pregnancy gives you such gorgeous, shiny hair, only to have it all fall out after you give birth. It doesn't seem fair, right? Well, that's only because they don't trust nature and their bodies. But I do.

And that's why after my last slurp of placenta smoothie, I went straight to the shower and gave my hair a meconium rinse. You gave birth to this perfect little baby, and as a thank-you, your baby gives you this amazing gift. The meconium rinse is well-known to keep your hair shiny and keep it from falling out. If you have any left over, rub it into your fingernails for an extra special manicure. It'll keep them shiny too!

Thanks for sharing Rhododendron! It makes me want to have another baby so I can get my hands on some more of that wonderful NATURAL product!

Ask Mama Tao- NATURAL Pooping

Dear Mama Tao,
Forgive me if this is tmi, but I have a moderate degree of pelvic organ prolapse since the 4 (empowering) births of my kids. I have been given the options of physical therapy, a pessary, or surgery to make my yoni youthful again. I was wondering what Mama Tao's advice on how to deal with this might be, (maybe use a potato instead of an unnatural item from Big Pessary?) and then I found this website with the claim that pelvic floor disorders only happen in the west, as a result of eeeevil toilets and eeeevil gyns and those valsalvas they are always forcing us women to do. The product they're selling here also will apparently eliminate your risk of developing hemorrhoids, colon or prostate cancer. By allowing you to stand on the seat of your toilet, and then squat to drop the kids at the pool as nature intended. http://www.naturesplatform.co.uk/site/pelvic_organ_prolapse.php
Thanks,
No More Elvis Pelvis

Dear Elvis Pelvis,
Clearly someone just fell off the turnip truck--and its you. Are you aware that there are products out there that are only made for someone else to make money? This, my dear, is one of those products.
Don't get me wrong--everything he says is true, but do you need to buy some silly devices such as this to help you poop? No!
Nature has made it's own pooping platforms and it's called the ground (or floor).
Around my house we have returned to using the old chamber pot that were so popular back in the days of old. They lower you to the ground and aid in the passing of poopie, but don't cost a small fortune. You can even use you houses pots and pans because urine sterilizes the pot and the germs for the poop are your own, thus safe!
So next time, try using you head and don't get skunked by the snake oil salesmen!! Use you own methods to save your sphincter!

Guest Post--The Elephant Dung In the Room

Guest post by Adhara Centauri
I know you've all been thinking it, but no one is saying it.
OK, so you know how anti-natural, formula-pushing will say things like "we don't pee and poop in public
so why should we breastfeed in public?" Haven't you ever wanted to turn that back around at them?
Why DON'T we pee and poop and public? There are so many benefits to peeing and pooping whenever
and wherever you need to, just like animals and tribal people do.
- Poop is natural fertilizer. We would save tax dollars that go into maintenance of green spaces.
- Poop fosters many species of insects, bacteria, and other cool animals. And I love ALL animals.
I am not speciesist.
- Poop is aromatherapeutic. As a licensed aromatherapist, I can't tell you how many times I
have recommended a day at the zoo or a farm to get that poop smell coursing through you
getting your chakras aligned.
- Poops kills theta particles. Enough said!!!
We should be embracing the idea of pooping in public AT LEAST AS MUCH as breastfeeding
in public because THAT IS HOW IT IS IN NATURE.
Nature knows best.

Guest Blogger: Other uses for that first Poopie!!

Meconium: Is There a Reason it Looks Like Pudding?

Many of us understand that nature will provide us with what we need—sometimes it comes from the places we least expect. There are new studies being passed around the NATURAL Mommy world stating that Meconium, that muddy black stool that is passed soon after baby is born contains high levels of vitamins and female birth hormones!
Many people in the last few years have taken to eating the placenta as a means of returning the body to its previous hormone levels. Placenta eating has also been proven to reduce the chance of postpartum depression in some women.
Knowing that, the logical next step is to enjoy nature’s bounty by partaking in the very NATURAL act of consuming the meconium nature has provided you!
Still not convinced? Think about it this way: Animals in nature always eat the waste of their young! Don’t believe me? How many puppy poopies have you seen? NONE! And I’ll also bet you have never seen a dog with a case of PPD, have you?
My midwife recommended this to me after the birth of my DD and at first I didn’t want to try it, but soon I was getting a case of the massive sads and decided to give it a shot. The taste was not too bad as it is a natural product that has never been exposed to the evil toxins of the outside world. I ate one teaspoon per day for the next week and by the end of that week I was my old self again!
So I am happy to tell you that this method of treatment WORKED for me! I am living proof and the only proof all us Mommies need!
